Remember, conferences are next week after school and in the evenings. And then there is no school on Friday, Nov. 7th. I will send reminders home on Thursday, tomorrow, reminding you of your time. The Book Fair also starts next week. Monday is Preview Day, then they may bring money, Tues-Friday. You may visit the Book Fair with your child.

We had a great field trip to the pumpkin patch at Jones Farm! They even cut some of our pumpkins right off of the pumpkin vine! Some got tiny ones, some of us got bigger ones. Some were orange and some were still green! THANK YOU to all that could go with us and help! The hay maze was great fun!

From caterpillar to butterfly...

We observed the monarch right after it came out of the chrysalis! We knew it was close when we could see the wings inside the clear chrysalis! It's been very exciting!

Kindergarten Homework

The kindergartners did a great job with their homework this week! When they bring in their letter detective homework, they get to stand up on the carpet and show everyone what they found! This is great "public speaking" practice. Lots of kids also brought things for our "Bb" sound board. It is full of great stuff!

Routines and Drills

We had our first fire drill today! They all did a great job! We discussed that we will soon have a storm drill and an intruder drill. This caused one kindergartner to ask, what happens if we are having an intruder drill and the fire alarm rings. Do we still go out? Such thought provoking questions at this age!

On The First Day of Kindergarten...

Welcome Kindergarten parents to the "World of Wilder" and the "world of kindergarten". We have had a GREAT first week. No tears (well hardly any) from the kids, and if parents cried, they didn't cry in front of their kindergartner!
We are really stressing our routines this week, so the rest of our year can go much smoother for all of us.
Blogging is new for me, so I will try to get a little more creative as we go along here. If I find a caterpillar that crawls across the screen, that will tell you about our Science this week. We have monarch caterpillars, some have made a chrysalis, and we have Swallowtails, and some luna moths! So we are observing and predicting. To be continued...

Welcome to Wilder, Kindergardners!
